Not Your Typical Rescue
At Operation Saves, we believe every animal, no matter how big, small, loud, or scaly, deserves safety, compassion, and a second chance.
Our rescue is home to a wide variety of animals you won’t find in your average shelter: tegu lizards, mini alligators, guinea pigs, ferrets, parrots (yes, even the talking kind), mini horses, donkeys, and just about every farm bird you can think of. It’s part sanctuary, part zoo, and all heart.

What is the adoption process like?
All our pets, including dogs and cats, are spayed/neutered and up-to-date on vaccinations.
You can browse the list of available pets online, then fill out the Adoption Application. Once submitted, a team member will reach out to guide you through the next steps.
What does fostering involve?
We’re dedicated to helping animals adapt to home life quickly. We’re looking for compassionate individuals to provide temporary shelter and assist in their transition to a forever home. To get started, complete our Foster Application.
How can I get involved?
As a nonprofit rescue, we rely on the generosity of donors, volunteers, and foster families. Whether you’d like to donate, foster, adopt, or volunteer, we welcome your support and partnership in our important mission.
How do I become a volunteer?
Volunteers help with everything from feeding and cleaning to socializing animals and assisting at events. If you’re passionate about rescue, we’d love to have you! Just fill out our Volunteer Form and we’ll get you started.
How long does the adoption process take?
It can vary depending on how quickly your application is submitted and reviewed, but typically adoptions are finalized within 2–5 days after approval and a successful meet-and-greet.
Do you partner with other organizations?
Yes, we collaborate with local businesses and nonprofits (including programs for youth and individuals with disabilities) to care for our animals and enrich our community involvement.
What should I bring when I come to adopt?
Bring a valid ID, proof of residence (if needed), and be ready to go over the adoption contract. If you’re adopting an animal that will live with other pets, we may require a meet-and-greet first.
